I've been lent a G3 iBook 500/ 30Gig HD, with only OS X 10.3.9 installed; no
OS 9.2.2/Classic.

There are applications installed I'd like to continue to use, and also, to
be able to have there when I may eventually return the machine.

But, I need to use OS 9.2.2/Classic on this machine as well!

Is it necessary to wipe the HD clean to install both operating systems?

What is the best procedure for me to follow?

Will I then be able to upgrade the OS X 10.3.9 to OS X 10.4x?

All the best,
stanton
