It works just like "firewire disk mode" on later powerbooks.

A light may have dawned (!) -- if I get a firewire card for my Lombard can I connect it to my B&W G3 (both running Panther), and transfer files that way? For some reason that I don't understand the ethernet connection between these two computers stopped working a few weeks ago, and nobody on either this list or the G-List has been able to point me in the right direction to get it going again.

There seem to be a lot of these cards on eBay for not much money, and some of the descriptions specify that they'll work on a Mac, but is the Lombard "Cardbus 2 compatible"?

Best,
Victoria
