I don't know whose tag line this is but it is offensive. Only in a
country that is controlled by a dictator or is a Communist state
would said
tag line be true. And while I know our country is a Republic and
not a Democratic one. It is our duty to question our
representatives and leaders. Not to do so is unpatriotic!
Thinking like this will bring the United States down like other
great countries of their time. Such as Rome and Babylon. And
personally I can't wait for the day that the United States of
America is no longer a Republic. I want a Democracy in it's truest
meaning. Of course I am a Hellenic-American so you can see why I
want a true Democracy.

I share your sentiment Peter, this is an affront to freedom loving
Americans. I wonder if that tag line represents the kind of
understanding when we talk about rules -- "you are with us or against
us". Rules are enforced to govern a system, but as you said, there
must be some exercise of freedom and democracy in order for that
system to move on and progress. If rules are no longer effective
then we can amend or change the rules.
We can follow the rules but if we vitiate from it once in a while, we
should not be accused of being UNPATRIOTIC or branded that we are
with you or are against you. Honestly guys, I don't like guys who
run this e-group but I am not against you. I don't need to like you
as a prerequisite of being a member of this e-group anyways.
So lets be clear about us. Lets follow your rules but don't put a
Mc Carthy's label on us.
