It is a good idea to back up your iTunes library on a disk or external hard drive from time to time.

Thanks Amber,
I have one MP3 song I downloaded from the web.
itunes will not load it to my ipod. It plays on my
laptop but I'd like it on the go. Is there a way to
convert it so it loads and plays on the ipod ?

It has to be in your iTunes Library.

Drop it into your iTunes library when iTunes is open...this is how to import it.
