That's what everyone tells me. However, FreePPP has been working fine for
months. I tried Remote access, and got more reliable and faster
connections, but also tons and tons of "unexpectedly quit", type 1, 2 and 3
errors on both my 8500 and the G3, both running 8.6.
I don't know if the danish version of 8.6 is bad luck somehow, but it's the
most unstable thing I've ever run on any Mac. The 8500 is back to 8.5.1 now
and very stable, but I haven't had the guts to try Remote access on it yet.
The G3 is ready for a fresh system, I guess (8.5.1 or 9.1, haven't decided
yet), but right now I'm in the middle of a 700 pages web gallery project,
and it would be _very_ convinient to get it back online, at least just for
a couple of days before I kill it.
As for 8.5.1 v. 9.1, my indecision comes from not being able to get my
hands on a danish version of 9.1. I'd like to know though, if 9.1 has
solved the 9.0.4 problem with temp files not being put in the trash
automatically?
