Even easier is to open the Apple System Profiler and se what the ROM
i.d. is, which will be located at the bottom of the front page of data
and listed under "Production Information".
Rev 1 = $77D.40F2
You can also check to see what the Graphics card is.
Rev 1= Mach 64 ATI
My understanding is that the ATA issue has to do with using more than
one HD. Rev 2 allows for it; Rev 1 does not. I originally found the info at
http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/G3-ZONE/
Based on a statement found on these pages I was able to purchase a Rev 2
chip at Other World Computing:
http://www.macsales.com/
....thus allowing for two ATA drives. I've since gone back and searched
OWC for more Rev 2 ROMs but found no listing.
