OK. If I open ASP in OS X i get 'Not Available' or a blank for
everything under the 'Product Information' section. The Graphics card
(in the Devices and Volumes section) is reported as 'ATY,Rage128'. This
is no confusing me because the ATA controller on the board is a Rev. 1
chip (according to xlr8yourmac) and it has a Rev. 1 case. I have 2 ATA
hard disks in the machine, the original 6 GB Maxtor and a 10 GB Fujitsu
ATA 66 drive. Both are working faultlessly. So what gives. I suspect
that keeping the stock drive on the machine may help the ATA system but
I don't know for sure. Confusing isn't it! As for the Rev. 2 ROMs this
problem was seen with the upgrade ROMs for Beige G3s, someone got hold
of a few and they sold out real quick, no one has got any since, I
suspect the same situation here.
