Speaking of Maxtor...gee, I just had a really fortunate experience with them.
My 40-gig 5400rpm Maxtor firewire drive started crapping out in July.
Since my G4 only had the original 10Gig drive, I ordered a Maxtor 60-gig internal from
Staples (good price with the coupons) and quickly transferred the data from the
firewire and then called Maxtor.
To make a long story short, they screwed up and somehow my original
replacement drive became back-ordered. Well, I guess their 'no hassle' return policy
REALLY works. Because the forgot to inform me of the back-order AND it took just over
a month they sent me an 80 gig drive as a replacement!
I am a VERY happy camper! Now I have 150 gigs total. And I'd just begun to scan all my
line art work and pics from my days as a news photog.
