Hi. Does anyone have any ideas why they disabled the lock "system
folder" and "applications" folder feature in the General Controls
control panel in OS 9.1. I always thought it was a good idea,
particularly to prevent kid's from deleting files. The way Apple has
always insisted on the use of the Trash icon to remove disks always
made me nervous. In fact, the way OS 9.1 creates an Application
folder and places all Apple apps in them is something that should
have been done long ago. It's much neater that way. The only problem
now is they disabled the system and application lock feature. You
can't win. On the first level of my Hard drive I always had the
System Folder and the Applications folder. Then everything went into
the Applications folder. I never did care for the "at ease" program
for kid's. My only concern was the accidental or deliberate deleting
of files.
