Kyle For most of the world's population, the world and their choice of work just aren't that simple. :( Be glad and grateful that you have that freedom of mobility, but it is good to recognize that many if not most people don't have that, or your mindset about the issue. > Don't get me wrong though. They're so incredibly entrenched... It would take some seriously deep pockets to go after quark, ass the user base is so entrenched it would just be a long term commitment to get them to switch over (the user base would have to be big enough that quark xtensions would be ported, like xscale, etc so that the professionals could use it). And even then you'd just have to have one kick ass stable app to build buzz around over the years, and put quark on the defensive... Ie, release apps quicker than once every 5 years (I think xpress v4 was released in 96-97, and v5 will be in jan of 2002 I think?). Quickly producing kick-ass software when the market they're going after has very strong competition and they would have to do the above to accomplish any marketshare gains isn't adobe's strong suit (witness the "livemotion" disaster they can't sell any copies of). Ah well, I'm glad I sold my adobe stock. :) -- Michael Bryan Bell http://homepage.mac.com/michael_bell/ -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
