Wow! Someone else has the same problem as me. Melinda, I've been asking about this all day, somehow it devolved into a discussion about ethics :( but unfortunately I have not found the answer to your/my question. No matter what I do, I cannot change the password. I've tried every suggestion posted to the list, plus reinstalling the OS from the updater on the Apple web site, no luck. I've just about given up.
