The Beige G3 DT is inadequately cooled from the git go.

I developed a modified power supply for the DT which incorporates a 65 cubic 
feet/minute fan, in place of the standard 45 cubic feet/minute fan.

(Parenthetically, this modification also allows you to delete the fan shield 
in the DT's upper case, thereby allowing installation of standard height 
SDRAM sticks.)

For a stock DT configuration, the G3's CPU temperature was lowered from 97 
degrees F to 85 degrees F.

But that's still way hotter than a comparably equipped MT.

If you were to transfer your DT innards to an MT case, and then add fans at 
the two places provided in the MT's upper case "handle", you would probably 
see temperatures that were consistently a few degrees above ambient.

My Beige G3/300's CPU is running at 66 degrees F right now as I write this.
