Let's have some fun here:

1) where do you live?
2) do you have air conditioning?
3) if not, was it hot and humid yesterday?
4) Did you cut the cabling yourself or buy it pre-cut?
5) have you tried replacing the cabling?
6) have you swapped cables with other computers that still work?
7) Have you changed ports that the G3 B/W is plugged into?

Let me know those 7 answers and I think I can help you out.
