what did you format it with? in some formatters you can set a volume to mount on startup or not. usually in this case you can run the formatter again and change your' choice for each partition. you likely could also do it with a different formatter than the one you formatted the drive with. of course if you don't have much on the drive you could just back it up and reformat it. hd toolkit isn't my favorite but it's ok (mostly it allows more control than most people need, although you can just take their defaults). silverlining is my favorite, but mostly because i've used it for a long time without problems. the apple formatter might work as well. if you did use drive setup there's a "functions" menu, which includes volume settings, you should be able to change it from there, if you used the drive setup, i couldn't try it because i don't have a drive formatted with it and it won't let me play with my drives.
