Hi, the 3dfx-based cards are superb for games written with Glide in mind, such as Unreal Tournament and Deus Ex. I have a Radeon AGP (the original 32MB DDR) and a Voodoo2 PCI that I have kept for using it for UT. The RAVE driver of UT creates screen artifacts and Glide on the Voodoo2 seems to be superior to RAVE on the Radeon, speed-wise.
However, remember that new games hardly ever have (probably NEVER) have suport for Glide since the death of 3dfx, so RAVE or OpenGL is definitely the future (OpenGL for sure). Voodoo cards support RAVE but the last time I've checked, OSX does not support these 3dfx cards (can somebody verify this?). So if you want to keep up with how things are going, I'd suggest getting hold of a RAVE/OpenGL card. But, if you can, keep the 3dfx card just for UT. I haven't regretted it! I bet you that 2 Voodoo2 cards in SLI mode will kick the Radeon out of the window in UT! HTH paris __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Sign up for SBC Yahoo!
