Where did you find the test?

You know whats really sad.. Im one of those Mac people that always
bragged about the superior architecture and what not.. Well I got a 'DSP
test' song from a Logic Audio user site to test out how much my G4 800
could really do.. Sorry Apple if youre going to tell me that my 800 is
whatever % faster than a 2Ghz pentium4. My 800 barely benchmarked even
with a DP 500. And these were the first two entries on the chart,
meaning the lowest index. Guess what every other machine higher was?
Either an Athlon or a P4. The P4's literally doubled the amount of
plugins they were able to run. Of course going by 'the megahertz myth'
this makes perfect sense.. Looks like the Mhz Myth isnt so much of a
myth after all. Oh yeah, and the dual 1Ghz machine, was like #4 on the
list. It sucked bad too, but judging from the submitters response to
various sound card settings, I dont think he knew what the hell he was
doing (probably running a full My Settings extension set, etc..) but man
that sure made me rethink my last $1800 purchase on a cpu.. Even with
the Altivec enhanced Logic Platinumverb and Spectral Gate, the Intels
and AMD's blew my brand new 800 to dust.
