Sorry to be slow sending this- for some reason I left it in draft status and
left town for a week.
I have the same computer. Unless you get a chip model with its' own DIP
switches (which override the regular settings) to set the bus multiplier,
like the NewerTech chip I got, you need to change a jumper or two to do
this. I see someone else provided a link on the xlr8yourmac site.
The preset bus speed on a beige G3 is 66 so YOUR multiplier is set at 3.5
(3.5 x 66 = 233 MHz). To set to 333 MHz you need a multiplier of 5 (5 x 66=
333). If you set it to 5.5 (my recommendation) it will overclock the
processor to 366. Most computers won't tolerate overclocking by more than
1/2 the bus speed (33 Mhz extra), but some will manage 1x (66 Mhz extra) and
work ok- mine didn't. It also risks burning up something if you really push
the overclocking. Same with raising the bus speed.

To install, remove the clip holding the heat sink to the ZIF, move the heat
sink aside, lift the lever on the left side of the processor chip, put in
the new ZIF (there is a corner where there is no pin, orient so that goes in
the slot lined up with where there's no hole at one corner). Lock down the
lever, replace the heat sink and clip. Make sure you put the clip back the
same way to was to get good contact of the sink to the chip).
If you then start your computer, Apple system profiler can show your new
processor speed.
