I don't think that is true. If you max out your memory, I think you will get
acceptable performance on your G3. I have X installed on my Pismo 400 and it
runs pretty good. I have iTunes running nearly all the time which impacts
performance significantly, but I only use it for email, surfing and other
simple tasks. It's great for that and it never, ever crashes (#1 feature on
OS X).
