A few days ago I downloaded iTunes 3. The computer was booted into 9.2.2 at the time.
With the intention of installing it the next day, the download was started and I went
to bed. A few hours later I woke up and walked by the monitor. The download had
finished, the browser had quit, and the hard drive was being indexed.

I didn't start the indexing and there was no one else here at the time who could have
initiated it. My computer was the only one on at the time. Being prudent (ok
paranoid), I checked the firewall reports. There was no indication that anyone had
tried to access the network.

If any one would care to offer up any ideas as to why this happened I would appreciate
it. I seem to recall this happening once on another machine a few years ago, but never
figured it out.

Oh yeah.
>Gualt? Do you mean Galt? Who is John Galt? (tongue in cheek)

Someone sat a large container of malted beverage next to the computer and I think the
fumes messed up the spell checker.;)
