Fast SCSI does not use the processor, but ATA drives do pull from the 
processor. The gain from going ATA 133 on a beige G3 may offset any pull 
on the CPU; I'm not sure. I have never done any audio work and don't 
know anything about it. Going to ATA 133 and a zif upgrade is probably 
not any more costly than going to really fast SCSI. High speed SCSI 
controllers and drives are very expensive.
