i'm not sure about your' hardware/software. basically, when you look at the firewall log, have it resolve the names if it hasn't, and the ones that are "doubleclick" etc. just add to the blocked list. this does cause problems on some sites if you have java script on, some will loop trying to get the ads, you can turn off java script (or turn off the blocking when you need java) or you can usually just hit stop and you should usually get the page minus the ads. if you toggle the blocking on and off, you still want the basic firewall functions on of course even when the ip# blocking is off. yeah, i'm sure it really irritates the hell out of the advertisers and people who try to track you from site to site, gee, i feel so bad about that.... after all, just like tv, parts of the web are getting so over bloated with advertising it's hard to see what you went there for. i figure tv has another 10 years max, hopefully the web will fare better.
