If that doesn't work, try booting into open firmware and see if that
comes up.  That's command-option-o-f .  I had similar problems with a
Beige G3 MT, and that booted it.  Then I used "System Disk" from the
Apple ftp site to patch Open Firmware, and now the machine works.

BTW, the base 2MB should be on the motherboard.  You've got more.
