A/UX was Apple's SysV Unix for m68k. It notably ran System 7.0.1 as it's
"window manager", giving it a level of interoperability that rivals the
"more modern" Mac OS X.

Also worth noting that Apple also made MAE or Macintosh Application
Environment for Sun OS (I think).

Apple has had quite a bit of experience with Unix. :-) It's good to see they
finally got a working, retail product going well.
