Ken,

I  agree with you. System 9 is an excellent OS. Much simpler and less 
complex-looking than Windows for the end-user. Jobs could have built a 
terrific customer base on 9, whatever he would call it for promotional 
purposes. Frankly, I turned off Launcher because it looks like hell, takes up 
too much of the screen, and is intrusive. I work out of the Apple menu and 
aliases.

I'm oriented to the end-user. That's where a computer makes it or doesn't. I 
want Apple to compete with the PC community. It that requires that Apple buy 
processors from Intel, so be it. Then the issue will become the design of 
hardware, the universality and stability of the OS, customer service,
and an easy environment for software programmers to work in. Apple could 
excell in all of these categories.
