---- Al Hutchinson
I found and use an item from Sears called the 'Craftsman Auto Switch'.
Go
to Sears.com and plug this item number <00924031000> into the search
field.
Works just like your power strip mentioned below. When the outlet that
the
computer (instead of saw!) is plugged into draws power (like on boot up),
it
energized the lower two outlets (think big relay). Works like a champ
(for
almost 2 years now). Don't be scared of it's industrial roots, no ill
effects for me. I've got my USB hub, Ethernet hub and powered speakers
all
       running off of it.

Thanks for the tip, I got one. Works great.

I just got an Adesso EKB-2100 ergo keyboard (w/power switch). Now, I can turn
on the entire system (computer +monitor+accessories), with "one flick of a
switch". Very convenient.

I also got a Logitech MX500 optical mouse (has scroll wheel, & 8 buttons: back,
forward, application changer, & scroll up, scroll down). I don't see how I
lived *without* this thing, Internet browsing & general useability went up by
ten-fold. It's like night & day. I still can't type on that %$^#% Apple stock
keyboard, anytime I do -- I get mistyped characters. I highly recommend the
keyboard & mouse combo I just mentioned. Got both of them at PCUniverse
(www.pcuniverse.com), they delivered very promptly.
