OK, so I've made the move to X. I'm running Jaguar on a G3/233/224 (installed Rev B ROM). It runs better than I thought it would, but I'm having a few problems.
I knew I was going to lose my floppy (is there any way to get that back) and my StyleWriter II, but I was going to make that up for both of those things by networking to my wife's PC. I have looked through the help center and can't figure out why they can't connect. I can see the G3 in the Network Neighborhood and I can see the PC in the "Connect to Server" window. I don't know if it is a password issue (my wife has accounts on both machines). She is running Win98 but knows enough about the system to scare me, so I don't want to dabble too much. Second question. I installed X on the drive that came with the machine, it is currently installed as the slave on my primary IDE bus. I have a 15GB Maxtor drive installed as the master. It has been partitioned into 1GB, 7.7GB, 4.88GB, and 700MB. With the 1GB as the OS9 partition. I am using this System Folder as my Classic System as well. Now to the root of the problem, I can't boot back into 9 (I need this because of the above issues). I have reset the startup disk in X. I have two sets of extensions set up for 9 (my origional settings and a set for classic compatibility). I have tried everything I can think of.
