Sorry, I haven't used it myself. But I was sure that a Unix based OS would
never abandon an old printer -- and PS level 2 is enormously capable. It
might not be trivial to install, but it should work.

It's HP's printer language, introduced with the HPLJIII, and many others
since. 
So you should be able to use a printer driver for that too.
