I installed the software and it made my internal modem invisible.  This makes
sense since on machines without serial ports, the only way to get a board level
external serial port is to use the internal modem port, which is what gport
does.  If you install one on a G4, they tell you that you'll need an external
modem.

There is also a freebie out there called stealth serial port that does something
similar.

I really wish those Apple people would just accomodate the hardware in older
machines in the operating sysstem.
