<< Do you even have a back up volume ? And how are you backing up now.? >>
I do not have a backup hard drive, I don't have a ZIP drive, not even a CD Burner drive either, just DVD-ROM and one 30 gig hard drive. I am not backing it up right now I guess. That is bad, I suppose. So I guess this means I am out of luck until I fork over some $$$ to purchase a ZIP drive, or some other kind of mechanical backup device. I wish i knew about this stuff before I go out and buy a $3500 machine (dp 450 <new> and 17" LCD flat panel) only to find out my DVD is not able to write to DVDs, hell even the DVD RAM would have been helpful in this situation. I just thought hey I love Apple computers, been using them since I was a tiny tot, and I trust that if I buy the flagship model it will have flagship features. Wrong. Terrible graphics due to inferior Rage Pro 128, solution, $250 for Radeon 8500 Mac Edition. RAM, a measly 128 default, so I buy one stick of 128, then last summer added a 256 stick, this Christmas a 512 will top it off. $999 for a crystal-clear mouth-watering completely crisp and bright LCD Flat Panel from Apple, the 17" Studio Display, was definitely worth the price of admission. Oh yeah one more tidbit that made it all worthwhile, NO Windows.... Feeling a little mercurial today... this shall end my rant. Thanks for your time.
