Hello guys and girls I thought I'd post this to the list as a last resort,
Another poster is having a similar problem I'll read suggestions on that as well. I got this G3 a week ago which after a lot of attemps with 2 different harddrives I am beginning to think the SCSI card is bad. Since both harddrives have the same symptoms (finish format in FWB HDT and at the very end it says "couldn't update drivers".) The card is powering a 50 pin SCSI harddrive ID 4 (the boot drive I am using it now), but when it comes to operate the 68 pin drives (both ID 0 but tried separately) that's the message it gives me upon trying to format (the cable is different so it could be it too). It powers an external Jaz drive, but upon trying a Yamaha CDRW (by itself w/ same cable as Jaz) it hangs on startup until I turn it off. It is not a SCSI ID problem, dunno about termination but both drives are terminated (tried removing and it hangs on startup as well.) BTW my config is G3 333 OS 9.1, 256MB RAM, a working 1GB harddrive 50-pin (on that card) and two 9GB HD UW 68-pin with the same flu symptoms ;) The external Jaz that works with the card & the CDRW that hangs on startup if it's on. Any suggestions? Thanks In Advance! Liliana -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
