Hi all-

First of all, I know this belongs on G-Books since it's about an iBook,
but since I cannot access my email on my iBook (as you will read below)
and I don't have access to that email account anywhere else, I will have
to post to this list because I am subscribed under a different email
address. Hopefully no one will have my head on stake.

I installed Jaguar last night. This morning I used it for about 30 minutes
to check my email and look at some web sites. I used it again this
afternoon on campus to check my email again. (I have a wireless router and
teh campus has wireless access.) Tonight while I was at home happily
playing with Jaguar, Mail crashed. I thought that would be a good time to
run Disk Utility. I started with 'Verify Permissions' - it found some
errors, so I did 'Repair Permissions'. It completed the repairs and I
restarted for good measure. Well, now my iBook will not get an IP address
from DHCP. It just gets a 169 IP address. I also tried manually
configuring an IP in my subnet with no luck. The only thing I can think of
is that this is somehow related to the 'Repair Permissions'. Any ideas of
where I should start looking to correct the problem?

(If you could CC any replies to me I would appreciate it - I'm in digest
mode.)

Thanks in advance,
Amber
