I don't think you can.  The problem is in the AppleShare standard and 
that hasn't changed much.  If they change it they run the risk of 
locking out older OS versions.  Worse it might mean having two 
distinct AppleShare standards which couldn't interoperate and that 
would be a logistics nightmare.
