Gene,

I have the Sonnet ATA100 card.  It doesn't include a hard drive, just the
cables to connect up to four internal hard drives.  I think it works great.

I bought a 20 gig and just recently an 80 gig drive.  They are both
connected using the Sonnet card.  (One important point though -- you must
format the drives while they are connected to the card in order for the Mac
OS to recognize them as potential boot devices.)

Most FireWire hard drives are $150-200.  If you go with the card, you'll pay
$100 for the card and around $100 for a decent hard drive. However, the
price goes down for the next hard drive you buy -- just the $100 internal
drive will be needed.  Since your B&W can easily hold three drives in the
bottom of the case, this might be an option you want to consider.
