Hi Sue -

We have over 8 of the LaCie external firewire hard drives (not the portable
ones-but they're still very portable), all 7200 rpm, and have had no problems
at all. In the last few months, we purchased 2 firewire enclosures and
bought 4-120gig maxtor drives for each. The enclosures were 50-60 dollars
each and can hold 2 drives, and the drives all had rebates on so I think for
about $325 we have 240gig. for each enclosure. The enclosures are a bit
larger than the LaCie's but offer a lot more storage space.

<< Hi All,
I'm looking to get some external HD storage for my B&W G3/350 (OS 8.6,
448MB, 60 GB HD, Rev.2) -- I've thought about going SCSI due to its
stability but realize the cost is higher. Has anyone had experience
(positive or negative) with LaCie's portable external HD's
(firewire/USB)? I'm looking to keep the cost down but want something
reliable. Looking forward to your suggestions.

thanks,
Sue
