Right, but you don't need a second drive.  All you need to do (provided your DVD
isn't copy protected, which home burned ones are not) is to make a disk image of
the disk you wish to copy.  If your friend has enough hard drive space to burn
the original, s/he will likely have enough to save a temporary disk image. 
Titanium will make a disk image from an existing DVD and then copy it to a new
disk, as many copies as you wish.

There is probably a way to do this in X without Toast, but I'm not sure exactly
how.  It's easy with Toast.
