"Centronics" incorrectly refers to the Amphenol 57-series connector family,
which became the de-facto standard for:

1) HP-IB (IEEE-488), in its 24-pin incarnation,
2) Centronics-type parallel interface printers, in its 36-pin incarnation,
3) SCSI-1 (SCSI-N), in its 50-pin incarnation, and
4) Telco twisted pair, also in its 50-pin incarnation.

What you have is most likely a SCSI-2 (narrow) drive in a SCSI-1 (also
narrow) box.

FWIW, the Yamaha 8x24S drives were SCSI-3 (narrow) drives in a SCSI-2 (also
narrow) box.

And the beat goes on ... no standardization.
