I'll second this one. It's really hard to beat the simplicity,  
reliability and privacy of a wired ethernet LAN for home use.

Yup, and you can be like my friend in Sacramento who discovered his  
neighbors kid tapping onto his wifi network. <G> There are advantages  
to old fashioned hard wired.
