I seriously doubt that MS sees the Mac as a big enough threat to warrant crippling the Mac version of IE. Probably the reverse--they don't see the Mac market as being big enough to warrant the resources required to keep IE up to date. :/ Beyond that, I agree with Kyle--I find IE5 on the Mac to be much easier to use than IE5 (or IE6) on Windows. IE on Windows doesn't seem to have half the user setable preferences that it does on Mac OS (except I can't, for love or money, seem to get IE to give me a dialog box to open a new web location under Mac OS--I really want that). I've gotten Netscape 7 to load a lot faster by reducing the size of the disk cache (or better yet, eliminating it altogether). It seems to spend a lot of time checking/cataloging the disk cache when it starts up. I've seen the same phenomena with Netscape 7 on Windows as well. >It downloads pages extremely fast (on dial-up.) >Tabs are a wonderful addition to web browsing, and i find that trying >browse without tabs sucks. >Netscape 7.02 does require some tweaking of the preferences. >And it should have a Ram Disc for the cache. You don't need a RAM disk for Netscape 7. It has user-settable disk and memory caches. Just set disk cache size to zero and memory cache size to, say, 50000 and you're good to go. A memory cache is better than a RAM disk imho as you're only using the memory when the browser is actually running. -Jeff [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- "You can't brew a premium lager with a kool-aid mentality." --Harold Green in _The_Red_Green_Show_ -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
