Hi All,The d2 design is probably the best on the market today. However, the 80GB pricing is not as good as the 120GB. I have used these drives extensively & found them a delight for the eye & the touch. They have no fan: total silence. Super compact, they compete with 2.5" drives.
I have a B&W G3 Rev.2, OS 8.6 (6GB + 60GB int. HD's, 440MB RAM) and am looking to add an external HD for backup/storage purposes. I am considering the LaCie d2 80GB Ext. HD but haven't seen them reviewed by MacAddict or MacWorld as to their performance and overall reliability. Has anyone on the list used these drives and what are your experiences? These drives are a bit more expensive but I understand LaCie has a pretty good name. Are there other HD's I should consider? I already have an external CD-RW burner but I'd like to be able to have the HD to fall back on for regular backups.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
best, Sue
