so, i regularly break the greatest of all commandments:
Thou shalt not be pull thy plug (to shut down!)
but i swear this to you, it is the only way sometimes, i mean nothing else works it
responds to nothing on the keyboard or even the panic button on the face of the
console.
This time i was trying to print and nothing was working.
anyway, after a time the mouse froze up and nothing was working so i eventually pulled
the plug.
well, when she finished rebooting the cursor showed up in the same exact location as
when i shut it down, now it does shut down with the panic button and it starts from
the keyboard and the mouse works until the reboot process is complete, i know thats
weird but i can even boot the cd, which in this case is my copy of 9.01, which I have
reinstalled.
i have tried everything i can think of including changing keyboards and mouses.

someone knows what stupid thing i have done, and i hope their is a simple fix.

here's hoping
