I'm not a grammar expert by any means --- I can't even remember to help myself by hitting spell check most of the time --- but realizing that 'Mac' refers to a 'Macintosh' I've just never understood why it's often spelled 'MAC'. Perhaps it's thought that 'MAC' is in fact proper? Or is it perpetuated just because it's so prevalent?
