Thanks, Gareth --- end of quote --- Short answer: no in os 8.6 or 9.x. Yes in os X. Long answer: I put a pci usb2/firewire card by SmartCard in my Beige MT. I chose that card because it has a power supply cable that runs from the drive power cables, which is said to increase stability when you are running usb or firewire peripherals that draw power. According to SmartCard, usb 2 is not available on anything but os X. In fact they just recently came up with a driver for X that is supposed to work properly, which wasn't available when I installed the card. I have a combo firewire/usb2 drive box, but I have not yet tried usb 2. It's supposed to be faster than firewire. If anyone knows of a usb 2 driver for 8.6 or 9, please let me know.
