it's probably just the semiconductors singing.  semiconductors, including
microprocessors do often make a sound that varies with what they are doing. 
frankly, i'd be surprised if it was a power supply in any case.  at the same
time, people describe sounds very differently and it's always hard to know what
sound someone else is talking about without hearing it youself.  if it always
happens doing the same things with the same program, it's definately the
electronics singing.  at the same time it is possible that you have very, very
bad power.  do lights flicker or change intensity?  to you get odd noises on tv
sets or the radio?  there are many, many things that can make different sounds
and it's very, very hard to know what kind of noise you are talking about even
if you do try to describe it well.  if you could record it and post it somewhere
that would really, really help.  otherwise, don't worry about it, if something
is failing you'll know soon.  you might make sure it's not coming from the hard
drive (which can make an incredible variety of sounds both working properly and
dying) just to make sure you aren't going to lose files, but then again backing
up anything important is always a good idea.
