I wasn't suggesting that you HAD to upgrade to OS X, just to install a USB
2.0 PCI card. I rarely think about the USB ports on my Sonnet Tango being
USB 1.0 or USB 2.0...I just have my stuff plugged in, and am normally
oblivious to what data rate things are s'pposed to be going.

I will suggest, however, that you at least consider a combo card, versus
FireWire alone. If the price of peripherals is of any concern, to you, it
would be nice to have the option to buy the cheaper USB peripheral, than to
hunt for the more expensive FireWire version.
