Subject: OS upgrade question -- 8.6 to 9.2.1
For some reason my Outlook is mis-addressing my email to the list and it's
bouncing back- aplogize if this gets posted twice.

This post was a few days ago but I didn't notice any replies to it.
Do shut off the virus software before any software upgrade (I don't think
you really need it in a Mac anyway).
The OS 9 upgrade is very easy to do. I upgraded three family macs (an iMac,
a Starmax and a Beige) from 8.6 to 9.1 w/o problems using an install disk
labeled for a PowerBook- I don't see any need to back up the harddrive
specifically for this.
>Should I make the upgrade to 9.2.2 after the main system is installed?
I did on my Beige G3, just because my iPod said 9.2.2 was needed (or X)- I
don't see any reason not to, but I was fine with 9.1 'til I got the iPod
this month. Our other 2 macs are still on 9.1- If it ain't broke don't fix
it?
