I am running the PCI Extreme hack to enable QE on a maxxed out beige at home.
System info: Beige MT G4 533, 768Meg, Radeon 7000, OS 10.2.8.

As far as day to day work, the QE hack for the Radeon is a significant
improvement over not having it installed.

As to the video, I don't use final cut or iMovie, but when playing DVDs (of
course with a hacked DVD player) the movies are not quite as smooth as when
I was running 9.2 on the same system, dropping occaisional frames. I am not
an expert, but I am guessing 1 every few seconds. This amount of dropped
frames does not bother me, but it may be critical for you if you are
looking for that one frame in the movie "Who Framed Roger Rabbit"

I did not use OS X with the Radeon for too long before I installed the
hack, but iirc, it played DVDs slightly better before I installed the hack.

The best thing to do is to download the hack and try it out. The download
includes an uninstaller if you do not like the results.

OF COURSE, always have a backup ( or even better a Carbon Copy cloned copy)
of your startup disk before installing any hacks to your system.

Hope this helps a little.
