First let me note that I realize that this is about old macs, and that you have probably already thought of this, but on the off chance you haven't, Here is my opinion: I have 2 Beige G3s and one has a G4 in it. I have a 450 G4Cube. Don't waste that much money on the G3 because the disk drives are so slow and you will never be able to make them faster. File transfers to and from my cube--whether firewire, ethernet, or even partition to partition--are almost 10 times faster than either of the beige boxes. Get a used G4 on 3Bay; it will have faster disks and video and take more ram and more disks. It will have USB and firewire. And you will have 2 computers instead of one.
