It's been awhile, but I thought the only way to really scrub a zip disk 
was to use the appropriate version of  "Zip Tools." This app even 
allowed a format that was more in-depth than a typical format. Not sure 
where you can find zip tools for your OS, but it is the best app for 
really blowing away a Zip disk...
