I did replace mine, though that wasn't the motivation. Two drives work without issue, 
so far as I can tell.

The logic board part of the process is relatively simple. It's probably the easiest to 
work on case in the history of personal computers. Seating the heat sink on the 
processor is a bit unnerving, the first time 'round. Knowing the right amount of 
silicon grease to use is not something that's easily explained in an instruction 
booklet.

I got mine cheap from mega macs and haven't seen one for anywhere near as good a 
price, since.
