As I understand it, part of Sonnet's solution for breaking the 500 MHz limit on the B&W is to slow the bus speed to 66 MHz. This results in a performance hit on everything but processor speed. For the price they're charging, I'm not sure the new upgrades are worth it.

I was looking at the Sonnet site and saw that they now offer an 800 MHz and
a 1GHz G4 processor for the B&W. Aside from the 200 MHz difference will
there be a noticeable difference in speed between the two or will the 800
suffice? There's about more than a $100 difference between the two so right
now the 800 is looking kinda fine.
Any comments on Sonnet processors?
Actually the bus speed is 67 MHz. I put a 1 GHz G4 in my B&W G3. The installation was simple and the rejuvenated B&W G4 was my way of sublimating desires for a G5. Everything is snappy. No regrets.
